<B>Field Marshal Sir Archibald Wavell Autograph Letter Signed</B></I> “<I>A. P. Wavell</B></I>”. Two pages, 5.5” x 7”, Sussex, August 13, 1936, to Mrs. Alec Tweedie. Wavell writes to author Mrs. Alec Tweedie: “<I>Thank you so much for your letter and for the copy of Lord Allenby's letter, very typical of him. It will be a very big job to write his life. He was such a big man in every way. I am in camp at present, and very busy with the training of my division. So I hope you will excuse this hurried acknowledgement.</B></I>” Tweedie was obviously preparing to write a book on Allenby and knowing that Wavell had served under Allenby in WWI was seeking his input.
