He attracted worldwide attention in 2005 for his series of paintings depicting the atrocities at Abu Ghraib Prison. Signed book: The Bullfight. First edition. NY: Rizzoli, 1990. Hardcover with dustjacket, 12 x 13.25, 212 pages. Signed and inscribed in black felt tip on the second free end page, “To Lorie and Marv Balestocky, cordially, Botero 90.” In fine condition, with some mild haloing to signature and inscription and light wear to dustjacket.
