In his paintings, Fernand Roda looks at nature and creates his playful pictorial worlds of figurative forms in several layers of colour. The present view of nature depicts a dense green meadow with scattered swabs of blue, red and yellow. The colour pigments are partially applied over the paint in very thick, elevated layers. Eyecatcher are two red paper boats. A rectangular block in red, white and blue moves into the image from the right.



The image by Fernand Roda is signed and dated lower right ‘Roda 2000’. The work is in good condition with usual traces of wear, the corners show minimal nicks. The dimensions are 50 x 65 cm.



Fernand Roda (b. 1951)

Fernand Roda was born in Luxembourg in 1951. He studied at the Art Academy in Dusseldorf, his fellow students included artists like Jörg Immendorf and Blinky Palermo. In 1975, he was a master student of Joseph Beuys. In the 80s, Roda initially devoted himself to large-scale figurative painting. In his works, he primarily deals with the theme of nature.
