French artist (1881–1955) best known for his brightly colored, cubist- and machine-age-influenced abstractions. ANS signed “F. Leger,” on the correspondence side of a 5.5 x 3.5 color postcard, July 21, 1941. Leger writes to a Mr. Szecsi in New York City. In full (translated): “Have received the copies for the Academy. Good. I’ve written and sent photo. Have copies distributed to dealers in art materials—ARTISTS—I’ve sent to all the schools in New York. Do your best.” In fine condition with a postal cancellation touching a small portion of his penmanship and a small red pencil notation at the bottom of the correspondence side. Great art-related references.
