<td><em>
Great Painting! Meditative oil, with Spiritual Qualities, by renowned spanish artist Fermin Santos!</em></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="100%">
The painting represented here was painted by
Fermin Santos; born in Guadalajara, Spain in 1909
and died in 1997 in Siguenza, Spain! He developed
his own style within the thematic one of the Castilian landscape, urban, and castumbrista. It's style, personel and tenebrista are linked
in the best tradition of spanish black painting !
The painting depicts an interior church scene of the Cathedral Burgos of Spain, by which you are drawn down a corridor of illumination and vibrating pillars within the darkened shadows ! The cathedral's construction began in
1221 and took three centuries to complete. It is
Spain's third largest cathedral and one of it's
hero's ( El Cid and his wife are buried there ) !
It is located on the banks of the Rio Arlanzo.
The frame is of wood construction and consists of a protruding inner border with a antiqued gold finish; a painted or stained black
border with a antiqued gold finished
edge. The frame appears to be original to the
painting and compliments it quite well !
The condition of painting and frame are very good with only normal/minor signs of age(crazing), and very minute scratches to frame !
The approx. size of painting without frame
is 28" H by 20+1/2" W.
