Prussian officer (1776–1809) who revolted unsuccessfully against French domination and was killed in battle in May 1809. ALS in German, signed “Schill,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 8 x 13.75, July 31, 1808. Untranslated letter to Colonel Adolf Friedrich von Oppen, continuing to maintain that one of his subordinates was wrongfully accused. Light overall foxing and show-through from writing to opposing sides, otherwise fine condition.
