German composer, conductor, writer and music-director (1811-1885). ALS in German, signed “Ferd Hiller,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5.25 x 8.25, personal letterhead, September 22, 1883. Letter to his publisher. In part [translated]: “That you are even honoured to publish something for me is more than I could expect and I thank you for all this. How you name the piece or which name you find most suitable is up to you. Capriccio fugato with the addition concert piece.” In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds, one through a single letter of signature, trivial edge toning, and pencil notation to top edge.
