Renowned Russian opera singer (1873–1938) regarded as the foremost bass of his era. Dramatic vintage pearl-finish 7 x 9 head-and-shoulders photo, signed vertically in fountain pen, “F. Chaliapin, 1925.” A few surface creases, one affecting the facial area and another passing through half of the signature, a small area of surface loss at the bottom left corner, a tear to the top left corner, otherwise fine condition.
