Fenton Glass Thomas Jefferson Bowl Bicentennial Ltd Ed
Fenton Glass created this bowl as a commemorative piece for the bicentennial of the signing of The Declaration Of American Independence. It is known as the Thomas Jefferson bowl, and they were produced in a limited edition of three different colors, one for each of the years 1974-1976. This color is the first edition, Indepedence Blue, of which 3600 pieces were made. The design features images of Jefferson's portraits, and his homes. The top has an eagle, and four different Jeffersonian quotations. One example is this: " My confidence in my countrymen generally leaves me without much fear for the future." The size is 10 1/2 inches tall, and is 7 inches in diameter. It is in mint condition with the original sticker on top (slight wrinkles), and includes the Fenton booklet. It comes in a box from Marshall Fields.
This is a proud limited edition Fenton bowl from a special period in American history.
