This lot contains an original Federal design double drop-leaf table dating to circa 1900. The table shows a rectangular top - both with the leaves in or out of use. The table sits sturdy on six turned or carved, twisted legs. Two of the six beautiful legs are "gatelegs", pivoting off dovetail joints to support the extra leaves. The tables construction attributes the piece to the first quarter of the 1900's. The table is in good condition overall, one of the gatelegs has a broken hinge. The piece measures 72 1/4" wide, 45 1/4" deep, and 28" tall with the leaves folded up. Provenance: Inherited from the original owners of an early New England Family Estate circa 18th-19th Century.
