This is a beautiful example of an all original unaltered early 1937 production, "S/42" Mauser Luger pistol rig with still retains the early style straw colored small parts. The Mauser factory retained this type of finish for only a short time in 1937 before changing to a more durable and fast process all salt blue finish for all future Luger production. The top of the chamber is dated 1937 and it has the "S/42" code marking on the front toggle. It has the early style "eagle/63" Waffenamt proofs on the barrel extension and barrel. There is a single eagle firing proof also on the barrel extension, barrel and breechblock. It is correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the safety area and extractor respectively. It is complete with two original matching numbered magazines with the aluminum bases that are marked "1746/s/eagle 63" and "1746/s/+/eagle 63" respectively.
