Original coin bag from the "Steen National Bank" used in the fantasy film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" (2016), the spin-off and prequel to the Harry Potter film series, the adventures of writer Newt Scamander in New York's secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, and Colin Farrell.
National Bank was an American No-Maj financial institution established in March 1848. Its central branch was located at 1790 6th Avenue in New York in 1926. On 6 December 1926, Mary Lou Barebone held a New Salem Philanthropic Society rally on the front steps of the bank. Both Newton Scamander and Jacob Kowalski went into the bank. Inside, Newt chased after his loose Niffler, and Jacob found Newt's silver Occamy egg.
