Fancy mounted antique horn, prominently featured in epic motion picture The Kentuckian starring Burt Lancaster and identified throughout the movie as Gabriel’s Horn. Mr. Lancaster blows this horn throughout the movie, however it is a trophy horn and not a blowing horn and is not drilled for making sound. It is German silver mounted with engraved names and is the type given as a trophy and sometimes given as a shooting award. The horn measures 28” from tip to end, 5” across the mouth. Good condition with some minor carry and use. Engraved 1898 along with names engraved along the horn and a shooting-type plaque enameled and marked “DIEALPER”. Consigned by the individual who purchased Western Costume Company who supplied props for golden-age Hollywood films. With documenting letter. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
