Fancy custom engraved Colt SAA revolver, by Master engraver Howard Dove in the Cole Agee cattle brand style, .45 cal., 7-1/2" barrel, nickel finish, checkered deluxe ebony one piece wood grips, #SA17719. This gun is in like new condition showing extensive "D"+ coverage over all areas including the front sight and hammer; accompanied by a letter dated January 14, 1991, signed by Howard Dove stating there are approx. 80 cattle brands of Texas registered cattle on the weapon, that the hammer has scroll engraving and border while the front sight is engraved with feather Indian headdress design; there is a snake and broken lance on the ejector rod housing and there are three notable panel scenes, one showing a long horn steer on the left recoil shield, another of the flag of the State of Texas on the loading gate and a map of Texas on the top of the back strap. The grips are in excellent condition and show sharp checkering and well accomplished diamond patterns. A classic Western-theme piece of modern artwork by one of the best known engravers of the 20th century. Est.: $5,000-$10,000.
