Fancy English percussion fowler by famous maker S. Nock of London, 12 gauge, 31” barrel, old re-blued finish, checkered wood half stock, iron tipped wood ramrod, engraved and gold inlaid lock plate and top tang of barrel/frame. This gun isin overall good to very good condition showing an even plum blue patina on metal surfaces with some slight spots of erosion and several small nicks from carry and storage; quality engraving on lock plate, hammer, trigger guard, butt plate and toptang; the gold inlay is of a game scene on the back of the lock plate, game scene with hunting dog on the top tang/breech end of the barrel and a decorative floral inlay around the front sight; the action is good, the bore is fair and the woodis overall very good with excellent graining, wear to the checkering and some scattered nicks, mars and scratches with an old compression on the right side of the fore stock area just in front of the lock plate; also an old wedge-shaped loss on tleft side of the butt stock near the toe. A really nice fowler by an important maker. Est.: $600-$1,200.
