Magic trick apparatus gifted to 9-year-old Bradbury by his unlikely mentor, ''Mr. Electrico'', a carnival performer who put on an act that Bradbury says inspired him to write fiction. In addition to ''knighting'' Bradbury with the edict to ''Live Forever!'', Mr. Electrico also gave the young Bradbury this magic trick. According to his article in the September 1975 issue of ''True'' magazine, Bradbury said of the gift, ''...a small cup-and-ball magic trick that he placed in my hands. I have it still...'' Ball and vase trick is made of wood with a red sponge ball and half ball segment, still in working condition. Measures 6.25'' x 2.75''. In near fine condition. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate.
