Advertising cover for HM Lyon, Ravenna, Ohio, sent to Col. Chas. A. Lindbergh in New York (New Jersey address crossed out) in May 1930. Three stamps: 3 cent Lincoln, 10 cent Lindbergh-Air Mail (!), and 15 cent Statue of Liberty. Reverse has numerous NY cancels. This was the year Lindbergh received the Congressional Gold Medal. It was 2 years before his son was kidnapped and murdered. Charles Lindbergh was an American aviator who became the first person to complete a nonstop solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927, flying from New York to Paris in the Spirit of St. Louis. His achievement made him an international hero, though his later political views and isolationist stance before World War II stirred controversy.
