Famine Relief Grain Token, Copper ½ Seer, 2.44g, obv. Relief ½ Seer Token 1876, Uniface (KM Tn 3, Prid 34 page 210). About Uncirculated, Extremely Rare, only the second known specimen seen. A grain token struck for use during the South Indian famine of 1876. The only other specimen seen, was in the David Fore Collection Lot 2496 in 2013 sold for Rs. 1.2 Lacs. He had in turn purchased it from the Wiggins Collection lot 801 in 2001.
