Falling Skies Seasons 4 & 5 Espheni Overlord's Glowing Lava Stone Movie Props
Seasons 4 & 5 - The Espheni glowing lava stone plays a pivotal role in Falling Skies. By pressing a handful of dirt in its hand, an Espheni Overlord can create a lava stone on the spot and use it to see and hear fellow Overlords across the universe. Three crucial scenes revolve around the lava stone. In Season 4, Episode 10 (18:32 minutes), Lexi (Scarlett Byrne) uses her Espheni powers to make her own lava stone and eavesdrop on a conversation between her Espheni Overlord "father" and "uncle." Upon hearing their decision to kill her, she switches her allegiance to her human family. In a climactic scene in Season 4, Episode 12 (18:40 & 21:40 minutes) a seething Espheni Overlord the humans call "Scorch" (Mark Gibbon) seeks vengeance on Tom Mason (Noah Wyle), as Tom had previously blowtorched his face. To fulfill his vendetta against Tom, "Scorch" threatens to sear Lexi's face with the lava stone right in front of Tom. Trapped inside the Overlord's Beamer Airship, Lexi and Tom improvise. Lexi stalls for time with a trumped-up story, signaling Tom to act. As Lexi defiantly screams, "I am Espheni!" the Overlord sears his volcanic lava stone into her face. Meanwhile, Tom leaps from behind to stab "Scorch" with a syringe full of deadly poison. The lava stone reappears in Season 5, Episode 3 (34:31 minutes) when Anthony (Mpho Koaho) shoots a captured Overlord who refuses to set down his lava stone. With the Overlord's death, the lava stone turns to black dust - causing Anne (Moon Bloodgood) and Colonel Weaver (Will Patton) to conjecture that Anthony is hallucinating and suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD). Made of hard plastic, currently lights up. Approx. 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".
