Falling Skies Seasons 4 & 5 Cochise (Doug Jones) Volm Field Laser De-Harnesser (Spike Extractor) Mo
Season 4, Episode 8 (28:04 & 29:39 minutes) - Colloquially known as a "spike extractor" this compact Volm medical device is the field unit version of the elaborate Volm laser de-harnesser that Anne Mason (Moon Bloodgood) used in Charleston. Season 4, Episode 8 (28:04 minutes) - Ben Mason (Connor Jessup) volunteers to transplant some of his Espheni "spikes" to Maggie (Sarah Carter) in order to save her life and reverse her paralysis. He insists that it must be possible, with the help of Cochise (Doug Jones) and some sort of Volm field device. Season 4, Episode 8 (29:39 minutes) - Anne transplants Ben's spikes to Maggie in a intense operation, using the Volm field laser de-harnesser. With Cochise (Doug Jones) advising her and Hal Mason (Drew Roy) in attendance, Anne proceeds. Cochise instructs Anne, "It is similar to the MRI device in Charleston but without the viewing screen. You must operate by intuition." As Anne manipulates the visible, blue laser tendrils, Cochise advises "You will know when it latches on." While electric chatter fills the room, Anne guides the lasers underneath the rib-caged hull that sits atop Ben's back. The lasers grab onto one of Ben's spikes, and Anne reaches for a clamp. As the spike begins to lift from Ben's back with a squishing sound and eerie alien cry, Anne carefully extracts the spike to reveal that is alive and kicking. Displeased, the alien spike-bug resists with high-pitched electronic squeals and thrashes its plant-like roots in a fight for its life. Anne struggles to control it, but with Hal's help manages to carry it to Maggie. As it hovers a couple of inches above Maggie's back, the spike-bug spots its target and immediately attaches its roots to Maggie's vertebrae. With the spike implanted in Maggie's spine, the creepy crawler spreads its tentacles under Maggie's skin to take root in its new home. The Volm field de-harnesser is made of hard rubber and plastic and includes a Volm spinal spike, a remote lighting package with LED dimmers, a power supply, and batteries. Includes custom shaped, black, hard shell carrying case with foam padding. Volm field extractor is approx. 19" x 14" x 5.5". Carrying case is approx. 26" x 21" x 9".
