Falling Skies Season 1 'Globe Scout' Transmitter Movie Props
Season 1, Episodes 9 & 10 - This classic 'Globe Scout Model 40A' transmitter landed the 2nd Mass one of their earliest, most decisive victories, by using old technology to repel invading alien Mechs. In Season 1, Episode 9 (25:19 minutes), Ben Mason (Connor Jessup) realizes that certain frequencies affect his Espheni "spikes" like a jamming signal and cause him intense pain; the transmitter therefore can be used as a weapon against the Ephenis. He tells Uncle Scott (Bruce Gray) to tune the transmitter's knob, so together they can figure out how which frequencies may jam Espheni communications. With only minutes to spare, against Tom Mason's (Noah Wyle's) wishes, Ben and Uncle Scott refine their theory for use in an imminent Espheni attack (Season 1, Episode 10, 18:45 minutes). When a group of Mechs reach the 2nd Mass installation at John F. Kennedy High School, and a hailstorm of bullets fail to stop them, Ben and Uncle Scott boost the transmitter's signal via the school's flagpole and set it to the Espheni frequency just in time to stop the Mechs in their tracks (Season 1, Episode 10, 22:50 minutes) and cause them to retreat. 'Globe Scout Model 40A' transmitter with cords manufactured by World Radio Laboratories with AM phone and CW operation. Includes Turner Broadcasting System sticker #101855. Approx. 16" x 16" stacked.
