Factory Engraved Smith & Wesson Model 19 Combat Magnum Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter

Built on the K-frame and was the first medium frame revolver chambered for the powerful .357 magnum cartridge. This revolver has been factory engraved with a floral scroll pattern on the barrel sides, cylinder flutes, trigger guard, and frame. All of the original markings remain. It features a serrated ramp front sight, an adjustable rear sight, casehardened trigger and hammer, and a matte finish on top of the barrel and frame. Fitted with checkered rosewood custom combat grips. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, 357 magnum caliber, 4 inch barrel, blue finish, class A engraved and that it was shipped from the factory to Pacific Merchandise Co., Sacramento, CA. on Aug 25, 1980. Also included is correspondence with Smith & Wesson regarding modifications in 2002/03. The trigger was changed to a narrow smooth trigger, the hammer to a narrow hammer and a black blade on the rear sight. The red insert on the front sight remains and was not modified.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 99% of the original finish with faint handling/storage marks. A drag line is visible on the cylinder. The grips are also excellent with faint handling/storage marks. Mechanically excellent.
