Factory Engraved Remington Rider Magazine Pistol with Ivory Grips
Approximately 10,000 of these magazine pistols were manufactured from 1871 to 1888. This Joseph Rider design is one of the most unusual of 19th century pocket pistols using a tubular magazine, which is located under the barrel. Blade front sight with rear sight being a hole in the cocking lever. Magazine loads from the muzzle end. Standard two line markings on top of the barrel rib. The pistol is nickel plated, with the hammer and trigger blued. The sides of the frame and the backstrap are engraved with a broad leaf floral scroll and punch dot design. Fitted with very rare original smooth two piece ivory grips.

Excellent. The pistol retains 90% plus frosted original nickel finish with some minor flaking and some minor edge wear, with a patch of gray patina on the right side of the frame. There is limited pin prick pitting. The grips are excellent with some minor scratches. The ivory has an attractive aged yellow appearance (strongest on the right panel) with a nice grain pattern. Mechanically excellent.
