Description: For your consideration we offer this factory engraved New Model Police revolver by Remington. It was factory converted to metallic cartridge. It comes with a leather box, which has the Henry Hooker brand on it. On the inside cover of the box is an old label which says, Henry Hooker Ranch, Cochise County. There is also an old Bull Durham tobacco bag and a note from someone (probably an old owner). This piece came from the estate auction of the famous western author and Wyatt Earp historian, Glenn Boyer. The Remington New Model Police Revolver was produced by E. Remington & Sons, Ilion, New York, from about 1865 to 1873. It was a scaled down version of the Remington Navy and Belt models. Approximately 18,000 of these were factory altered from percussion cap to metallic cartridge. Maker: Remington. Approx. Age: 1860s or early 1870s. Size: Barrel measures 4-1/2” long with an overall length of 10-1/8”. Condition: Fair for its age, some wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures - they are an important part of our description. Shipping: There will be a $15 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot. The actual cost of postage will be added on top of that.
