Estimate: $2000 - 4000
Manufactured from 1878 to 1888. Approximately 90% of the metal surfaces are factory engraved. A floral scroll and punch dot engraving is featured on the barrel and frame sides and cylinder flats with a geometric engraving on the top strap and border engraved initials on the back strap. The top of the barrel is marked "IROQUOIS" with "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y." on the left side (note that specimens are often unmarked). Fixed sights, scarce fluted cylinder, cylinder pin without a quick release, and pearl bird head grips. Complete with rare pipe case lined in blue silk.
BBL: 2 1/4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 22 RF
Finish: nickel
Grips: pearl
Serial Number: NSN
Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 60% original nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The grips are slightly ill-fitting, otherwise very fine with some minor scratches with a hairline crack on the left grip. An inscription has been partially removed from the back grip strap. Action needs work as cylinder is frozen. The exterior of the pipe case is very good with even minor wear and a broken hinge. The lining is fair.
