Factory Engraved Marlin Model 24 Slide Action Shotgun
Manufactured from 1908 to 1917, this Model 24 shotgun features an engraved oval panel on the left side of the receiver with four ducks in a marsh scene surrounded by scroll and punch dot designs and zigzag border. The right side of the receiver has the same scroll design, the bolt has two quail and there is a floral design around the serial number. The left side of the barrel is marked "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL" and "12 GA." is marked at the breech. The upper tang is marked "Marlin Model No 24". Single bead sight and barrel choke measures full. Mounted with fancy checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a serrated hard rubber Marlin buttplate.

Condition: Very good, with 80% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, scattered spotting and minor handling marks. Engraving is sharp. Stock is very good, with light varnish loss, pressure dents and attractive grain and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
