This revolver was manufactured in 1874 and has the First Model features that include: (1) short flute cylinder, (2) external cylinder stops and (3) no patent markings. The top of the barrel is lightly marked: "+ COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.+" in an engraved panel. The serial number "7134" is stamped on the underside of the barrel and on the butt. The revolver is decorated with scroll engraving on a punch-dot background. The engraving coverage is the equivalent to what later Colt catalogs described as level "B" engraving.

Fine. The revolver retains about 60% of the nickel plated finish with considerable flaking on the underside of the barrel. The cylinder has traces of the plated finish. The screw heads are battered and the recoil shields and edges of the frame and butt have a number of small dents and scratches. The left side of the cylinder pin release is broken. The knurling on the cylinder pin is battered. The pearl grips are in very good condition with small chips on the edges of the backstrap and at the junction with the frame.
