Factory Engraved Colt New Line .22 Caliber Etched Panel Revolver with Ivory Grips
Colt First Model New Line Revolver manufactured in 1875. The revolver has a nickel-plated finish and two-piece ivory bird's head grips. The revolver is retailer engraved with simple scroll-work on a punch-dot background. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in two lines. The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT NEW .22" in an acid etched panel. The full serial number, "10257" is located on the butt. The partial serial number, "0257" is stamped on the rear face of the seven-shot cylinder and on the underside of the barrel. The revolver has the cylinder variation with short flutes and eternal stops.

Fine. The revolver retains approximately 50% of the nickel-plated finish. The barrel and cylinder have traces of nickel plating in protected areas. The barrel etching and legend are legible. The cylinder has scattered light pitting on the face and sides. The nickel plating on the frame has scattered flaking with edge wear on the high points. The ivory grips are in fine condition with moderate age discoloration and minor scratches. The action is crisp and functional.
