Manufactured in 1984. The revolver features factory Class "B" floral scroll and punch dot engraving on the barrel, ejector rod housing, frame, cylinder flats, back strap and trigger guard. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "COLT BUNTLINE SPECIAL .45" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the left side of the grip straps under the grips. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish and fitted with checkered ivory grips with gold Colt medallions. The left side of the front strap under the grip is marked "COLT ENG". The inside of the grips are marked with a number in red and "WOODWARD/SAA 45/FACTORY" and "GOLD". The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, caliber, barrel length, nickel finish, grips as smooth rosewood with silver Rampant Colt medallions at the time of shipment, factory Class "B" engraving and that it was shipped as 1 to John Jovino Co., 5 Centre Market Place, New York, N.Y. on May 25, 1984. There is also a hand written note with "R.L. WILSON" letterhead, dated Sept. 8, 1989 which states that "The Buntlines grips have been refitted by Al White himself." Complete with a Colt wooden case with royal blue velvet lining, with the green box label inside and Colt Heritage box with hand written end label matching the gun. In addition the end label has "No 8 of 26". A separate Colt letter dated January 12, 1989, states that the "Engraving is performed in our Custom Shop and is usually done at the request of the customer. I do not know what "8 of 26" signifies. When a firearm is shipped from the Custom Shop, the box is marked with a green label."

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains virtually all of the original nickel finish with pin prick type blistering beginning on the underside of the barrel. There is a very faint drag line on the cylinder and a few overall scattered light scratches and handling marks. The grips excellent with a few hairline age cracks beginning to develop and sharp checkering. The engraving is sharp. The action is excellent. The case and box are both excellent.
