Fabulous super fine quality part silk Persian Isfahan rug. 100%natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, pure silk and finest baby lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation. this is a beautiful floral Isfahan design with a lovely sunburst central medallion and an arabesque pattern on a beige background. this is a pre-revolution piece in mint condition with a highly intricate weave. this fine Isfahan is masterfully woven, knot by knot, and has about 300 knots per square inch. it takes over two years to create this beauty and bring it to life. Isfahan is a town in the central part of Iran and it lies at the edge of the desert. Isfahan is the birthplace of some of the finest Persian rugs in the country. the leather band sewn on the edge on the back of this rug is to prevent the edges from curling under due to the extreme tightness of the weave.
