Hallmarked: Royal Haeger, 614 USA Copyright .Sculpture is in the round and in mint condition. Mirror base is not for sale and for display purposes only.<p>Soft cream or bone color porcelain with gold-wash.<p>HISTORY OF ROYAL HAEGER:<p>David Haeger immigrated to the USA in 1871 and established a factory for bricks and tiles. In 1912 he started to produce also Art Pottery. Among his early designers was Stangl, who brought with him from Fulper Pottery the knowhow of great glazes. <p>In 1938 Haeger hired Royal Hickman, who for a few years changed the factory from a maker of inexpensive small collectibles to a classy producer of great vases,figurines and busts. His work was so popular that the name of the factory was changed to Royal Haeger. Royal was strongly influenced by Californian and European Art Deco style. Although Haeger later again started to produce less expensive vases and figurines, top pieces by Royal Haeger today command very high prices FROM $500 TO $1,000.
