FURETIÈRE, Antoine.- Le Roman bourgeois. Nouvelle édition corrigée, & augmentée de remarques historiques, d'une satyre en vers du même auteur, & de figures en taille-douce. Amsterdam, David Mortier, 1714. 2 tomes en 1 vol. in-16° : front.-[10]-268, front.-[2]-191 pp. et 6 hors-texte. Relié par Duru en 1847 : plein maroquin vert, dos à nerfs sertis de filets à froid avec titre doré, monogramme doré au centre des plats, filet et roul. dorés sur les remplis, tranches dorées sur marbrures assorties aux gardes.
Édition illustrée, non signalée par Cohen, de ce roman dont les gens ordinaires et leur quotidien sont les héros. Cette satire fut mal reçue par les pairs de l'auteur du fameux "Dictionnaire" car le sujet, la langue, la construction du roman étaient trop modernes. In fine se trouve une satire anonyme à la façon de Furetière intitulée "Le jeu de boules des procureurs" (pp. 182-191).

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.

Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.

Payment will be made in Euro's. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 EUR or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Euro's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
