Top of the slide is marked with Savage's mfg. and patent information, followed by the dual cal. marking "CAL.32./7.65.M-M.". Left side of the frame is marked "SAVAGE". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the frame being polished in-the-white. Trigger exhibits a straw finish. Frame is mounted with replacement 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips featuring the Portuguese coat of arms at the center. Left grip panel appears to be a reproduction. Fixed half-moon blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. Heel of rear grip strap features a thin metal lanyard ring, as was standard for both the French and Portuguese contracts. MAGS: 1 10-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Portuguese brown leather holster marked "A.E." on the rear. This example is also accompanied by Cody Firearms record check indicating that it was accepted March 11, 1915, shipped September 28, 1915, and sold to "l'Administration de l'Arsenal de l'Armee". CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with scattered superficial handling marks and spots/areas of light surface oxidation present overall. Grip straps have faded to a dark gray patina. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting, while retaining worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips exhibit scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some areas of mild discoloration, as well as some age related cracking and crazing. (25-3524/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
