This elegant cane has a square ebony shaft that tapers to a horn ferrule. There is a gold cap (probably at least 14K)which is only 1/8" high, and 7/8" square on top. The cap sports a crest, which has 2 horse's heads facing oppositedirections over a shield with a diagonal band, a star in the upper left section and "CREDO" in the lower rightsection. The cap has 2 indistinct hallmarks that are probably French. There is a single-piece horn eyelet piercing theshaft about 4.5" from the top, and there is minor wear to the finish from the cord which once was there. Overalllength is just over 33.5". A super gent's stick!(EST 400-600)
