<B>FREDERICK JARVIS (1898-1966)</B></I><BR>Untitled<BR>Oil on canvasboard<BR>8in. x 10 3/4in.<BR>Signed lower left<BR><BR>W. Frederick Jarvis studied at the Art Students League in New York and in Munich with Franz Mueller. Jarvis came to Dallas in 1922 and taught at the Merdick Fine Arts School. In 1926, he moved to New York City and Washington, D.C., where he became Federal Art Director. In the mid-1930s, he moved back to Texas, eventually settling in Dallas where he established his own school named the "Texas School of Painting" located at 4305 Ross Avenue.<BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition.
