(1879-1969) Served as Chancellor of Germany in 1932 and as Vice-Chancellor under Adolf Hitler in 1933-1934. It was largely von Papen who persuaded Hindenburg to appoint Hitler as Chancellor. Typed L.S., 1p. 8vo., Baden, Oct. 6, 1954, to Mr. Keith Thompson, in part: "...Thanking your for the invitation to join the many friends of Mr. G.S. Vierick throughout the world with a congratulation on his 10th birthday, I have great pleasure to mail today a short letter..." . George Sylvester Vierick (1884-1962) was a German-American poet, journalist, and pro-Nazi propagandist, was imprisoned from 1942-47 for his activities. Fine.
