<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>(1804-1869). Fourteenth President of the United States (1853-57); brigadier general during Mexican War. ALS, 2pp, 8vo, Boston, Dec 13, 1859. To his friend T H. Seymour at Hartford, CT. In full, “<i>I thank you for kind note of the 7th inst. It is now decided that we leave this city for Hartford on Thursday next at 3 o’clock. We shall probably remain but a single night in Hartford, and therefore while we appreciate your thoughtful kindness in inviting us to your quiet home, you will see that it is best for us to go to a Hotel. Mrs. Pierce sends her kindest regards to yourself and sister.</i>..” Boldly penned and signed. In a postscript on third leaf, Pierce adds, “<i>If I do not get ready to leave this City by the three o’clock train Thursday I shall go by the morning train Friday</i>.” Occasional small edge stains; else VG/Fine. <b>Thomas H. Seymour</b> (1808-1868), a Colonel in the Mexican War, had been appointed US Minister to Russia by President Pierce after serving as governor of CT.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
