FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT (1882-1945). Thirty-Second President of the United States (1933–1945) and a dominant leader of the Democratic Party being the Only American President elected to More than Two Terms in office.
May 23, 1932-Dated Typed Letter Signed, “Franklin D. Roosevelt” as Governor of New York, 8” x 10.5”, Albany, New York, Very Fine. Written on State of New York Executive Chamber letterhead with gold gilt embossed NY State Arms at top. Usual light folds with a small staple hole in top left hand corner. Written shortly before he won his first election. He writes to T.E. Markley in Los Angeles, thanking him for sending him an amusing political slogan, which he might use at or after the Chicago Convention. This Letter reads, in full: “My dear Mr. Markley: Thank you for sending me an amusing slogan which might be used at or after the Chicago Convention. I have passed this on to others here, and will keep it on file in case of future need.” Displays a large, vivid blue fountain pen ink 3” signature “Franklin D. Roosevelt”. Nice content.
