Both handbills have been mounted on card stock and appear to be in very nice condition, considering their nearly two centuries of existence.

"Presumption, or the Fate of Frankenstein" is a three-act play from 1823 by Richard Brinsley Peake, inspired by Mary Shelley's 1818 novel "Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus." It stands as the first known stage adaptation of the novel and enjoyed 37 performances during its initial run, continuing at the English Opera House until at least 1850.
This adaptation introduced the character of Victor Frankenstein's assistant, known in popular culture as Igor. In the play, the character is named Fritz, a name also used in the 1931 film adaptation, though no such character exists in Shelley's original novel.
Mary Shelley attended the play in London during its first run, marking the only adaptation of her work she saw in her lifetime.
