<B>FRANK REDLINGER (1909-1936)</B></I><BR>Untitled Bull Dogging, 1930s<BR>Plaster sculpture<BR>11in. x 8in. x 3in.<BR>Sketch - 7in. x 10 3/4in.<BR>Unsigned<BR><BR>Frank Redlinger was accomplished at leather work, carving, and sculpture, as well as printmaking. This plaster-cast maquette, and accompanying drawing of a cowboy wrestling a steer, were studies produced in preparation for a bronze cast. Redlinger's untimely death put an end to those plans. This plaster maquette is the only extent example of Redlinger's sculpture to have survived. The strong line and form of the composition is clearly seen in the pencil sketch and translates exceptionally well into three dimensions in the plaster.
