<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>(1849-1927). Born Joe Horner, he changed his name to escape his outlaw past. Sheriff and Deputy US Marshal in Johnson County Wyoming, he was a major figure as enforcer on the side of the Wyoming Stock Grower’s Assn. during their attempt to drive out the small, immigrant ranchers and farmers in 1891-92. ADS “<i>F M Canton</i>,” a sheriff’s return on verso of partly printed DS, 8vo, Buffalo, Wyoming Territory, Jul 11, 1883. Embossed Wyoming Territory seal present. Subpoena for three men to appear as witnesses at the District Court of Johnson County. Canton certifies in purple ink that the subpoenas had been served. A feared gunman, with Heck Thomas, Bill Tilghman and Chris Madsen, Canton helped to bring justice to the Territories. As US deputy marshal in Alaska during the Gold Rush, he tamed the freewheeling town of Dawson. Returning to OK, he held the post of adjutant general of the National Guard until his death. An important autograph of the Old West.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
