FOUR MISSISSIPPIAN TYPE POTS. Mississippian period, Circa 1200-1500AD style. 1) Water bottle with damaged rim but otherwise sound. 7-1/4in. h x 5in. w. 2) Pot with neck appliques and pseudo strap handles. Shows some exfoliation on the body of the pot. Generally fair. 4-1/4in. h x 5-1/4in. dia. 3) Strap handled pot showing numerous cracks and repairs with some exfoliation on the surface. 4-1/2in. h x 6in. dia. 4) Bowl with lug handles shows stress fractures and repair but generally fair to good. 9in. dia x 4-1/2in. h. All of the following lots have come from the Collection of the Late Allen Graves of Tennessee. The collection was inherited some years back by his daughter, who now lives in Maine. This collection was consigned to us directly from her. We employed someone to generally identify styles and types, but as stated above, due to our lack of expertise in this field, we can not guarantee the age or origin of the following pieces.
