FLOWN Two-Piece White Beta Cloth Flight Suit worn onboard the Command Module Yankee Clipper during
FLOWN Two-Piece White Beta Cloth Flight Suit worn onboard the Command Module "Yankee Clipper" during the entire flight (except launch and landing) by Command Module pilot Dick Gordon. The jacket has long sleeves with snap closures and a snap front. There are NASA & Apollo XII Beta cloth crew patches on the chest along with a Beta cloth "R. Gordon" nametag and a hole for a telemetry cable. There is a Beta cloth U.S. Flag patch on the left upper arm. The waist of the jacket has an elastic expansion band in back. All of the Beta cloth patches show signs of extensive aging, but the suit is in excellent condition for its age. There is an ID label on the back waist of the jacket that reads: "Coverall, Jacket; BW-1060-002; Size: MS; S/N: 1061; Subject: Gordon; Contract No.: NAS 9-8309; Date of Mfg.: 1-15-69, Mfg. By: B. Welson Co." The pants are zippered with snaps at top and bottom. There are cargo pockets on each lower leg. There is an ID label on the back waist that reads: "Coverall, Trousers; BW-1061-001; Size: SL; S/N: 1061; Subject: Gordon; Contract No.: NAS 9-8309; Date of Mfg.: 1-15-69, Mfg. By: B. Welson Co." The flight suit is somewhat aged and soiled and seems to bear traces of MOON DUST in some seams that was acquired by inevitable contact with his fellow crew members after they returned from their mission. This suit is of the utmost importance to collectors as, to our knowledge, no FLOWN white Beta cloth spacesuit or flight suit has ever been offered for sale before. Think about it! This suit was worn for virtually the entire 10+ days of the mission including trans-earth, lunar and trans-lunar orbits. While Charles Conrad and Alan Bean were on the lunar surface, Dick Gordon was wearing this suit while doing his job onboard the Command Module in lunar orbit. This is a historical garment of the first order. A certificate of authenticity from Dick Gordon is included. Unique. Ex: the Dick Gordon Collection. FLOWN
