The forms of the dominant tree line become monumental, obscuring the sky horizon and fluffy clouds so favored by the impressionist "bluebonnet painters." Also missing are the solitary live oak, prickly pear cactus, and often-included farm house. McClung was certainly aware of the typical compositional devices used by painters like Julian Onderdonk, Jose Arpa, Robert Wood, and Porfirio Salinas, but true to herself, she provides her own fresh interpretation of the subject.<B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition; original unlined canvas on new stretcher. Very minor inpainting is evident under blacklight.
