FLEMING, IAN. DR. NO. 256 pp. First edition. 8vo, black-cloth over boards without brown stamp impression, spine lettered in with the Jonathan Cape in silver at foot of spine. There is no precedent in terms of the brown stamping on the cover it did however continue into the later printings. Fleming knew of this variant giving an example of each to the Lily Library. Dustjacket shows 13s. 6d. net and jacket by Pat Marriot on back flap. Binding slightly cocked with foxing to top edge.
