FINE U.S. GRANT COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE. An unusual commemorative plaque, 19 x 22", with a bust of Grant in the center, and vignettes of his career around the frame. The primary construction is stamped sheet copper over heavy paper; the frame was covered in blue velvet, but most of the pile has worn off. The vignettes depict "Driving to Market," "The Cadet," "At Mount McGregor," "Battle of Shiloh," "Surrender of Vicksburg," "Battle of the Wilderness," Surrender of Lee," and "The Inauguration." Minor places where water has lifted the underlying paperboard, some damage to back, but overall still a nice commemorative piece.
