FINE MEXICAN OR CIVIL WAR CAVALRY SADDLE PACK. This leather pack is 17.5" long and 5.5" in diameter. There are 2" brass plates on either end with somewhat nonstandard eagles: the eagle is on a twisted band or branch, and is facing left instead of right. The eagle is surrounded by 13 stars, the entire disk has leaf surround. (Most eagles of this design were militia and/or purchased from European makers, according to O'Donnell & Campbell.) The leather on this pack is presently too stiff to open the pack, some water damage; 2 buckles present, no straps.
