This 16" blade has a diamond-shaped cross-section and is mounted in a 2.75" high knob-like turned ebony handle. Some bluing remains, but there is also light surface rust on the blade. The hardwood shaft has a metal-lined holethrough the shaft, and imprints of eyelets around the holes. The eyelets and collar are missing. This would appear tobe a "marriage," but the hole cut in the shaft for the blade has been there a while, i.e., this is not a recent "marriage."There is a small chip missing from the rim of the handle. The shaft has a 1.25" steel ferrule. Overall length is 36".(EST 200-400)
