FEDERAL GRAIN PAINTED CORNER CUPBOARD. New England, early 19th Century. Painted overall with brown and yellow grain painting (probably late 19th century) with blue and other colors underneath. In two sections, the upper with molded cornice with acorn and scalloped frieze, arches glazed door below enclosed by conforming moldeing centering three block each with concentric turnings, opening to shelved interior. The lower section with a pair of paneled doors opening to a shelf on turned cone and flattened ball feet. PROVENANCE: Originally purchased from John Walton (7/29/71); Joseph and Hazel Marcus Collection, (Ex). SIZE: 86-3/4” h x 47-1/2” w x 24-1/2” d. CONDITION: Some shrinkage crack to façade. 9-28011
