<B>Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman Character Pipes</B></I>. Two delightful pipes with bowls carved in likenesses of Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman. The Roosevelt character pipe measures about 6” from stem to chin. The stained wooden bowl has been carved in the German style and is stamped “Roosevelt” and “Germany” on the bowl near the stem. The Truman character pipe likewise measures about 6” and the stained wooden bowl has been carved in a more caricaturish style, portraying Truman with an exaggerated grin on his face. The bowl is stamped “BRUYÉRE Garantie”. These pipes must surely date from the immediate post-WWII period and have great visual appeal.
